Who the program suits
“Welcome as a guest” is a policy for a foreign citizen inside Russia. The purpose of the trip does not matter: it works the same for a tourist, for someone visiting relatives and for someone staying several months.

Free medical care for a foreign citizen in Russia is available only for emergencies. Everything else — a GP appointment, a doctor call-out, tests — is paid out of pocket at the clinic's price list.
How much the policy costs
The price depends on three things: the program option, the insurance term and the number of insured people. The insurer's tariff is quoted in roubles per person; children are priced under program 1.9, and adults and children in one request are added together.
A 12-month policy beats two six-month ones: the basic annual option costs as much as 1.25 half-year policies. The final amount and the payment method are confirmed by the manager when the policy is arranged.
How VHI differs from travel insurance
A travel policy is issued by a Kazakhstani insurer and is designed for a short trip: it covers emergency care abroad, and the assistance company settles with the clinic.
“Welcome as a guest” is a Russian policy under Russian rules. It is designed for stays of a month or more, includes routine doctor visits and telemedicine, and works better when you live in Russia rather than visit for a week. How to apply
Leave a request — choose the program, the term and the number of insured people. A manager will call back, confirm the details and dates and send the exact price and payment procedure. The policy is issued electronically.
The insurer behind the program is the Russian company Rosgosstrakh; the policy is issued and serviced under its insurance rules. The service is not an insurance agent or broker: a request is not an insurance contract.

FAQ
Is a VHI policy mandatory to enter Russia?
Not for a guest or tourist trip, but without it every doctor visit is paid. For a work patent a VHI policy is required by Russian law.
How does option 1.3 differ from the basic 1.2?
Option 1.3 includes everything in 1.2 and adds repatriation — arranging and paying for the return home. The rest of the care is the same: doctor's appointments, care at home, telemedicine, ambulance and emergency hospitalization.
Can a child be insured?
Yes — children have their own option 1.9 with a separate tariff. A child can be insured together with adults in one request: state the number of adults and children in the form.
In what currency is the price shown?
In roubles — it is the Russian insurer's tariff per insured person. The final amount, the exchange rate and the payment method are confirmed by the manager when the request is processed.
When does the policy take effect?
From the start date you choose when applying — usually your day of entry into Russia. The exact commencement terms and validity period are set out in the insurance contract.
